Ayon kay Alea, mas maikli ngayon ang City Boy Week dahil sa paghahanda sa Annual Southern Tagalog Regional Scout Committee (RESCOM) Meeting & Election na gaganapin sa Teachers Conference Center sa January 24. Ito ay dadaluhan ng mga officers & members ng RESCOM 2018, regional scout representative at 2019 council mula sa pahina 1 chairman, council commissioner at council executives. Dito tatalakayin ang mga naging kaganapan noong nakaraan taon at magkakaroon din ng reporting, election of officers at pagtalakay sa 2019 calendar scouting observances. Pinaghahandaan din nila ang Annual Regional Scout Youth Forum sa January 25- 27 sa Batangas National High School kung saan inaasahan ang 18 council sa Region Tagalog na may tig 8 official delegates at 16 na observer na senior scout at senior high school ang mga aatend dito. Nagpapasalamat ang mga scouts sa pagbibigay sa kanila ng pagkakataon na gumanap bilang mga pinuno ng pamahalang lungsod. (PIO Batangas City) SCs and PWDs in Cavite relieved from payment of parking fees By Ruel Francisco PROVINCE OF CAVITE, (PIA) – The Provincial Government of Cavite headed by Governor Jesus Crispin Remulla recently approved a new ordinance relieving all senior citizens (SCs) and persons with disabilities (PWDs) who are residents of the province from paying parking fees charged by business establishments like malls, restaurants, pay parking areas and private hospitals in the province. The said ordinance which has been implemented before the end of 2018 is the Provincial Ordinance No. 235 otherwise known as “Free Parking Ordinance for Senior Citizens and Persons with Disability of the Province of Cavite.” The ordinance applies to drivers or passengers of private vehicles only who need to present their SC or PWD identification cards to the cashiers of the parking area to avail of said privilege. The privilege does not apply to public transportation like jeepneys (PUJ), tricycles, buses, and taxis and also with overnight parking. The ordinance states that establishments who will not allow this privilege will be penalized with PHP2,000.00 fine which shall be imposed against the operator, manager and/or owner of the said parking space while the cashier or booth attendant violating this ordinance shall be fined PHP500.00. This ordinance was authored/sponsored by Provincial Board Member Valeriano S. Encabo in support of the administration’s advocacy to somehow alleviate the burdens of the senior citizens and persons with disabilities. MANILA -- An Inter-Agency Meeting between BOC-NAIA and Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI) was held on January 7, 2019 to guard the borders with Dr. Simeon Amurao Jr., Director III, Bureau of Animal Industry, Dr. May Magno, Chair of the National African Swine Fever Task Force and other BAI Officers discussed briefings on possible entry of pork meats and meat products from African Swine Fever Virus affected countries namely: China, Belgium, Hungary, Latvia, Poland, Romania, Russia & Ukraine . In September and October 2018, cases of pork meat products contamination have been recorded in Korea and Japan through dumplings and hotdogs products. According to BAI, outbreak of the virus can affect the 40 million plus live hogs/pigs in the Philippines and can destroy the Php 2 Billion worth of swine industry in the country. To safeguard against the epidemic, Bureau of Animal Industry Officials and Port of NAIA District Collector Mimel M. Talusan initiated more briefings and information dissemination to Customs NAIA frontliners of Terminals 1 ,2 and 3 to strengthen the vigilance against Customs NAIA will continuously coordinate closely with regulating agencies to secure the borders against entry and exit of prohibited, regulated goods to protect the swine industry and livelihood in the Philippines. Mismong ang mga collectors ang nagbubukod ng basura habang nasa truck. Sinabi rin din ni Cantre na tatakluban ang mga basura sa trak para hindi natatapon ang basura habang nasa daan. DE CASTRO-PIA BATANGAS) DBP partners with LGU GenTri By Ruel Francisco GENERAL TRIAS CITY, Cavite, (PIA) – The Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) recently entered into a partnership agreement with the local government of General Trias to further improve its administration and provision of services to its constituents. The undertaking will involve projects for the automation of its human resource and payroll processing and the setting-up of Point- of-Sale system (POS) and internet payment gateway (IPG) facilities. “With the POS facility, residents and business owners in General Trias City can now pay their real property taxes using debit, credit and prepaid cards, while the IPG would facilitate online acceptance of payments of the taxpayers’ real property and business dues, ”DBP president and chief executive officer Cecilia Borromeo said. DBP will also install two additional ATMs in the city to serve the local government’s employees and its residents. General Trias City Mayor Antonio Ferrer explained that these improvements will help the city government create payment options for the convenience of its resident constituents which will result to increase in tax collections as well as efficiency in services provided to residents and generate savings from decrease in operational expenses.
