OPINYON August 8-14 , 2018 Germany’s Triple Win Project to hire 400 Pinoy nurses Philippine Nursing License Languages. Susan G. De Leon MANDALUYONG CITY--The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration is now accepting applications for nurses under the Triple Win Project of Germany. The Triple Win program is a bilateral diplomatic project between the Philippines and Germany which started in 2013. POEA said qualified applicants must be Filipino citizen and permanent resident of the Philippines with Bachelor of Science in Nursing, active and at least two years related professional experience (bedside) in hospitals, rehabilitation centers and/or care institutions. Applicants must be proficient in German language or willing to undergo German language training in the Philippines to attain Level B1 (to be paid by the employer) and must be able to attend the language class in October and November 2018; or with Bl or B2 Language Proficiency Level in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Successful candidates shall have a starting monthly salary of €1,900 (gross) that will be increased to € 2,300 after recognition as a qualified nurse. The employer will pay the visa and airfare from the Philippines to Germany and will assist the employee find a suitable accommodation. The selected nurse will bear the expenses in full or in part of the board and lodging. Interested qualified applicants should register online at www.ereqister. poea.gov. The Superb Cavite By: Kathryn A. Arlan CAVITE is known as one of the historical places in the Philippines as it played an important part of earning our independence during World War. As it is located in the Southern shores of Manila Bay in the CALABARZON region on Luzon Island, it is said to be one of the most industrialised and fastest growing provinces because of its close proximity to Metro Manila. Cavite has a rich history and it also has lots of beautiful spots and places to visit. There are beautiful views, beaches, mountains to climb, restaurants, and even churches. If you want some places to relax and enjoy, to relieve your stress, you can visit Cavite and surely, every moment of yours will not be wasted. So come on! Let us take a glimpse of some of those spots in Cavite. Visit the Aguinaldo Shrine Aguinaldo Shrine Aguinaldo shrine known as the ancestral home of Emilio Aguinaldo, the 1st president of the country, is located in Kawit Cavite. It is where the Philippine declaration of Independence happened. It is where Aguinaldo's remains can be found. It serves as a beautiful museum where many visitors, even foreigners would want to visit. The park has a long promenade, a small plaza and a wide space for food stalls. The park has bronze statue of Aguinaldo. At its either side are marble walls, written on it is the Act of Proclamation of Independence of the Filipino People in Spanish and English, together with the signatures of prominent cabinet members during that time. The museum contains multimedia presentations, dioramas, holograms, relics and artifacts connected to the life of the first President. The original relics like the presidential sash, presidential car plates, buttons, and chess piece sets are exhibited. The shrine is open on Sundays and entrance is free. The museum is just one of the new shrine-museum managed by the National Historical Commission. The museum proper was reopened to the public last March 20, 2015, three days before Aguinaldo’s 146th birth anniversary. VISIT THE CORREGIDOR ISLAND Corregidor Island Corregidor Island also called Isla ng Corregidor, is an island located at the entrance of Manila Bay in southwestern part of Luzon Island in the Philippines. It is one of the most popular destination near Metro Manila. It is a tadpole-shaped island found in Cavite and serves as one of the most visited tourist spots in the country. Corregidor is also known as "The Rock" because of its rocky landscape and heavy fortifications on the island . Its outline is shaped like a tadpole with its tail running eastward. Along with Caballo Island (which lies about 2000 meters south of the "tail's" tip). If you love lighthouses, you can see here the lighthouse which has been the oldest landmark on the island. It is very good for sight and a perfect place for picture taking. To get there, you have to take the Sun Cruises ferry from Manila to Corregidor. The ferry terminal is now located at the Esplanade, Seaside Terminal of SM Mall of Asia (MOA) Complex. There’s only one trip daily to and from the island. You will take an hour and 15 minutes to be there. Explore Sky Ranch in Tagaytay The City of Tagaytay is a tourism destination for local and foreign visitors. It is an excellent vantage point of Taal Lake and Volcano. Tagaytay is a perfect place for people who seek respite from all the pressures of daily life. Because of its cold and foggy weather, all the tourists visiting this place wear sweaters and other thick clothes. It has also lots of restaurants perfect for every hungry tummy. Another place here in Tagaytay that the people really want to visit the Sky Ranch. Sky Ranch, a leisure park in Tagaytay, is set to be one of the definitive Tagaytay experiences for families and groups of friends. The program helps address the needs of Germany’s healthcare sector while providing job opportunities for participating countries. HIKE MT. PICO DE LORO Mt. Pico de Loro, is one of the most popular hiking destinations near Metro Manila. It is one of the best places to see the beautiful views of water and mountains. It is also one of the most favorite hiking places of mountaineers. Mt. Pico de Loro is the highest point in Cavite. From here, one can see the wide plains of Cavite and the South China Sea. This mountain can be found in Ternate Cavite. According to the climbers, there are three challenges you have to face while hiking here. The cliff on both sides of the mountain, the descent from the summit to the monolith base, the assault to the photo perfect monolith. If you go there, tour guide is optional. If you want someone to guide you, you will pay Php1000.00 for 5 climbers. If it is in excess of 5 people, there will be an additional Php200.00. At the summit, mountaineers can see the Parrot’s Peak and even climb it if daring enough. It’s definitely worth to climb the peak just for the sights alone. The beautiful sight from above is really a refreshing experience even during hot or dry days. The trek is a challenge for beginners, which makes Mt. Pico de Loro a popular spot to new hikers and to those looking for an adventure. Climbing the rock peak is challenging, thrilling is something to be proud of once you reached it. Those are only few of the remaining beautiful spots in Cavite. There are many more places in Cavite that can truly throw all your stress away. The beauty of nature is what really satisfies the eyes of many. When you look around, feel the fresh air and the sound of the waves, all the pressures of the reality will suddenly disappear.
