“When I went to that leadership retreat, I learned a lot about myself personally and discovered that I can live and lead from that which gives my life meaning, and that would be service,” he said, “and with that, I garnered the courage to take the big leap of faith and move to the big city of Phoenix.”
After a little more than two years with the Arizona Students’ Association, he began working at St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance in 2011.
His duties include finding opportunities to engage with elected officials and the media and supporting child nutrition and other anti-hunger programs.
“I do a lot of education in my current role, actually,” he said, “which is a blessing because I love doing it, and I love changing the hearts and minds of people.”
