The parents of three children, the Wadhwas were disappointed that there would be no ice cream places in Laveen. That led to Scooptacular, in the same place the Coldstone shop vacated.
Wadhwa left flying. He has become somewhat of a local celebrity with the fun, unusual flavors he mixes, including hot dog and turkey. During the 2012 election, Wadhwa came up with Mint Romney and Barocky Road.
Danzeisen Dairy will offer whole, 2 percent, 1 percent, skim and to start with chocolate, root beer, strawberry, Arizona orange and egg nog.
Wadhwa said they are likely to get more exotic as time goes on.
Danzeisen cares about Laveen. He hopes to employ as many as 30 local workers. He cares about his family. His occupation allows him to see his young children every day.
