And he cares about cows.
“Take care of the cows and they’ll take care of you,’’ Danzeisen said.
Danzeisen remembers coming out to Arizona from Indiana as a young boy to visit his grandfather, Neil Viss, on his diary farm.
“All I remember is sunshine and cows,’’ he said. “I don’t know why. I was fascinated by the cows.”
His family moved to California in 1985 — “I remember it was season the Bears won the Super Bowl’’ — where there was room for some farm animals.
“I loved sports, but working with animals always came first,’’ he said. “I knew I wanted to do something with cows. I didn’t know what it would be.”
He got a degree in agribusiness and a little luck. His grandfather was getting ready to retire and none of the other children or grandchildren wanted to run it.
