The Atlanta Bar ’ s CLE Board of Trustees hosted its annual “ But You Said You ’ re a Lawyer ”. One of the panels included a presentation from Becker Legal Group , LLC ’ s Adrienne Hale on the Basics of Mergers & Acquisitions . Adrienne first provided attendees with an explanation of what an M & A transaction is and what it entails , including the difference between a merger and acquisition . She also covered due diligence , disclosure schedules , and closing checklists .
Specifically , Adrienne provided beginning corporate attorneys with some tips on how to stay organized when completing due diligence . One tip she provided to attendees were to ensure all documents have been reviewed and prepped for the partner by accurately and effectively using the closing checklist .
