a community component ,” she says . Her resume , reputation , and work ethic more than made up for her lack of experience on the court , and team President Dajuan Eubanks hired her .
“ Game days are exciting , and after the first couple of games , I was really invested ,” says Alicia . “ When I ’ m not working to support our operations , I ’ m watching the game .”
The variety of tasks keeps Alicia busy . One day she may be working with a current client , tracking accounts and managing contracts , and the next day contacting a potential corporate partner , or representing the team at a community event . “ We ’ re a small business at the end of the day ,” says Alicia . “ We wear many hats to pull it off .”
Alicia ’ s impact is being noticed . She was named to the 2023 Mainebiz 40 Under 40 list , which celebrates people who are changing the future of Maine ’ s economy .
Not bad for a self-proclaimed “ quiet kid ” from TA . “ I went to school and did my own thing ,” she recalls . “ I loved the teachers and loved the campus – it ’ s such a beautiful campus – and I loved what the school had to offer in terms of the overall student experience .”
When Mainebiz asked for her “ audacious goal ", Alicia replied , “ I want to continue to find creative and intentional ways to do good in my community . Always stay curious , lead by example and be kind .”
Clearly , the courtroom ' s loss is basketball ’ s gain . 5
