Section 6.
Leave of Absence
A.
Any member who has been granted a leave of absence by the Chapter (see the
SWSDRCP), for any period, must meet all National and Regional financial
obligations, including the conference attendance requirements in Article I, Section
1.A.2 in the NCB.
B.
A leave of absence prohibits the participation of the entire family during the leave
period, as outlined in the National Organization’s governing documents.
C.
Program Year Leave of Absence
1.
A Member who makes a written request for a Program Year leave of
absence to the Chapter Vice President (as chairperson of the Membership
Committee) no later than May 1st of the current Program Year may be
granted a leave of absence from June 1st through May 31st of the
subsequent Program Year. Said Leave of Absence request must be
approved by a majority of votes cast by the Chapter Membership at the
May Mothers’ Meeting. A Quorum is required. If approved, no Chapter
Dues will be assessed on the approved Member for the following
Program Year. However, the Member must still meet all National and
Regional financial obligations.
2.
A Member that takes leave under this category must notify the Chapter
Corresponding Secretary in writing no later than May 1st of the year that the
leave is taken of her intention to re-activate her membership for the next
Fiscal and Program Year. The member must notify the Chapter as directed
above or be subject to Involuntary Termination.
3.
A Leave of absence pursuant to this subsection prohibits the participation of
the entire family during the leave period.

D.
Leave of Absence for Less than a Program Year
A Member must make a written request for a leave of absence for less than a year
to the Chapter Vice President (as chairperson of the Membership Committee)
therein stating the period for which the leave is being requested. In such cases,
Chapter Dues will be assessed, and the Member must meet all National and
Regional financial obligations (see the SWSDRCP for details).
E.
Only a Member in Good Standing is eligible for a Leave of Absence.
F.
A Member on Leave of Absence is subject to all limitations as outlined in the NPP.
