Section 5.
If the basis for termination is a Member’s failure to pay National/Regional
per capita tax assessments, Chapter Dues, and/or other membership
assessments, such Member may not be reinstated until 30 days after such
monies have been paid.
Transfer of Membership
A.
An active Member who has met all financial obligations and changes her place of
residence outside her current chapter’s boundaries, shall within a period of one (1)
year of the change, transfer her membership to an existing chapter in the new city, or
to the National Office in the absence of a chapter in the new city, irrespective of the
new/receiving chapter’s membership quotas. The transfer request shall be submitted
and effectuated by the member on the required transfer form and forwarded to the
National Headquarters Office. The National Executive Director shall verify with the
former local chapter that the member is in Good Standing. The transfer process shall
be completed within 60 days of receipt of the verification request from the former
chapter. The National Executive Director, with the approval of the National
Corresponding Secretary, will notify the new chapter, the former chapter, the
Region, and the applicant of the approved transfer. The notification is the official
authorization for the transfer member to attend meetings, chapter activities and
inclusion on the new chapter's roster.
B.
A member who changes her place of residence within the Region, but has been an
active member in Good Standing in the chapter for a period of three years or more,
is not required to transfer to an existing chapter in the new city, if she’s able to
maintain the obligations of membership as established by the Chapter.
C.
When a Member in Good Standing moves to an area where there is no local chapter,
the Chapter shall transfer the membership to the National Office, upon request (see
the National Constitution & Bylaws).
D.
A member in Good Standing who transfers into the Chapter shall not be required to
pay National, Regional and local financial obligations twice in one fiscal year (see the
National Constitution & Bylaws).
E.
In situations where chapters share existing boundaries, a member is not allowed to
transfer chapter membership when she changes residence within the shared
boundaries. Said member must keep her membership with her original chapter
affiliation.
F.
Transfer members shall be accepted in accordance with the National Constitution
& Bylaws of the Organization.
