EXHIBIT A
Termination Review Procedures (Template)
SWSD Chapter
Termination matters will only be reviewed by a quorum of the Executive
Committee/Chapter membership (the “Reviewing Body”). The following is the
procedure for formal review of any termination matter.
Presentation of the Relevant Issues
Committee1/Executive Committee’s Rep.’s Presentation?
__ min
Respondent Member’s Presentation
__ min
(the Reviewing Body shall determine time limits by majority vote, prior to the
commencement of the review process)
-
After the Reviewing Body approves/finalizes a procedural process for
reviewing this matter, the Committee/Chapter representative and the
Respondent will each be allowed to present her case. The Sergeant-atArms shall serve as timekeeper. Each presenter may use her time to
discuss anything she believes is relevant to the termination matter.
Extra time, in 5 minute increments, may be requested. The request will
only be honored if a non-presenting Member makes a motion
requesting the extra time, the motion receives a second from another
non-presenting Member, and the Chapter supports the motion by a
majority of the votes cast. Such votes may be taken via hand, voice, or
secret ballot (as managed, counted and reported by the
Parliamentarian and Sergeant-at-arms) at the pleasure of the presiding
officer?.
-
No official names of individuals outside of our Organization
should be used in your verbal presentation. Generic terms
(representative, executive etc.) shall be used to refer to anyone that is
not directly connected with Jack & Jill of America, Inc. (unless the
Reviewing Body elects to officially do so in connection with a given
review). All Chapter Members are advised to consider this caveat in
weighing the credibility of the presentations made, and to not draw
any negative conclusion from a presenter’s failure to use names
rather than descriptions in the presentations today.
1
Refers to the Membership Committee when the Reviewing Body is the Executive Committee. The
Membership Committee Chair is responsible for making termination recommendations to the Executive
Committee.
?
The presenter shall be selected by the Executive Committee. This will usually be the President or the Vice
President (depending on the circumstances).
