time MUST be submitted immediately to the chapter Membership Committee Chair in writing for approval. Written approval must be received from the Membership Committee Chair. B. Any member on a Leave of Absence may not attend any chapter activities, events or meetings unless approved by the Chapter President. This includes the member’s entire family. IV. Membership Intake A. Sponsorship 1. Every active member who intends to sponsor a new member shall work with the Membership Committee and take an active role in guiding the prospective member through the membership process. This includes being available to answer membership questions and notifying the prospective member of upcoming chapter events and activities. 2. Sponsors are strongly encouraged to attend the Chapter Open House, the Chapter Orientation, and the Induction Ceremony for the benefit of new and prospective members. B. Prospective Member Requirements 1. Every prospective member must submit a membership profile to the Chapter Membership Chair. 2. Every prospective member must have a sponsor in good standing prior to submitting a membership profile. 3. Every prospective member shall attend at least one (1) Chaptersponsored event and at least two (2) age-group activities prior to requesting consideration for membership. 4. Every prospective member must obtain 2/3 of the votes cast by active members of the Chapter in order to be offered membership. V. Termination of Membership A. Causes for Termination 1. Failure to meet any obligations as stated under “Duties of Active Members” in the Chapter Bylaws may be a basis for a Member grievance and/or termination of membership in the Organization after review and recommendation by the Membership Committee and the Executive Committee. 2. Grievances: Members shall submit grievances in writing to the Chapter President within 30 days of the alleged misconduct. Management of all grievances shall be handled pursuant to the National Grievance Procedures (incorporated as Exhibit C to the Chapter Bylaws) B.
