Bylaws Committee
Convention/Conference Delegate Selection Procedures
for the
Southwest Suburban Dallas Chapter of Jack & Jill of America,
Inc.
Approved by the Chapter on January 18, 2011
National Convention and Regional Conference Delegate Selection/Election:
A. Pursuant to the Chapter Bylaws, the Chapter shall elect and sponsor one (1)
delegate, and one (1) alternate to every National Convention.
B. Pursuant to the Chapter Bylaws, the Chapter shall elect and sponsor one (1)
delegate, and one (1) alternate to every Regional Mothers’ Conference
C. Said selection shall take place at the April Mother’s Meeting prior to the
relevant Convention/Conference.
D. A Member must be in Good Standing in order to serve as a Delegate or
Alternate-Delegate.
E. Delegates shall be selected as follows:
1. The Chapter President and Vice-President (the newly elected officers
following a biennial election year) shall have the right to serve as
Delegate and Alternate-Delegate respectively.
2. If the President and/or Vice-President opt not to serve as Delegate
and/or Alternate Delegate, the opportunity to serve in the open position
shall be offered to the duly elected members of the Executive Committee
(the newly elected officers following a biennial election year) based on
the following priority until both positions are filled:
a. Program Director
b. Recording Secretary
c. Corresponding Secretary
d. Treasurer
e. Financial Secretary
f. Editor
g. Historian
3. The higher-ranking officer shall always serve as the Delegate
4. If no elected officer agrees to serve as Delegate or Alternate Delegate the
opportunity to serve in the open position shall be offered to the duly
appointed members of the Executive Committee (the newly appointed
officers following a biennial election year) based on the following priority
until both positions are filled:
a. Parliamentarian
b. Sergeant-at-Arms
c. Foundation Chair
d. Chaplain
