training Front Squat This is a Squat variation which has the barbell rest on your front shoulders unlike the back Squat where the bar rests on your upper-back. The Squat is one of the most revered strength training exercises of all time, and the front squat is a popular variation on this compound lift.  TIP: Mechanics are like other squats. The hardest part of the front squat may be the “racked position”. Practice until your wrists are “O.K.” with it. Handstands help. This one will force shoulder and wrist flexibility. Coaching cue Bar rests on chest and shoulders with loose grip – “racked”. Drive elbows up coming out of the bottom of the squat. 80 july/august 2013 W W W. S W E AT R X M A G .
