This   temple   was   called   as   Lad   Khan   temple   as   it   was   utilised   as   a   home   for   certain   period   of   time  
by   a   person   named   Lad   Khan.   Regarded   as   the   oldest   temple   of   Aihole,   this   was   constructed   by  
Chalukyas   in   the   5th   Century.   The   main   shrine   now   houses   a   Shiva   linga   with   Nandi   though   it   was  
dedicated   originally   to   Lord   Vishnu.
