Foods with good fats include nuts, salmon, and avocados. Be careful of how much you consume- too many of these good fats could make your diet go haywire! Keep fats at around 25-35% of your diet as a rule of thumb for a healthy amount.

6)Your body needs many vitamins in order to be healthy, but only vitamin D is produced in your own body, so make sure to consume enough other vitamins essential to your body.

DO

Eat vitamin-enriched foods for boosts in health (or take a supplement).

DON'T

Neglect to give yourself the foods needed to boost your vitamins.

All vitamins are essential to your health, as they help to keep different parts of you functioning correctly and sickness and disease. Make sure you're getting the vitamins you need through your diet. The most well known vitamins include vitamin C, B12, A, and D. Vitamin D is the only vitamin your body produces on its own, as it is a hormone that works to aid our muscle and bone development, as well as to keep them healthy. Check out the list at http://www.whfoods.com/nutrientstoc.php for more information on which foods to eat for a boost in vitamins.

7) Don't skip meals! Food is your friend, and skimping on meals will only deprive you of the nutrients you need.

DO

Eat healthy meals in moderate amounts, and be careful of proportions.

DON'T

Skip or skimp on meals and deprive yourself of the nutrients you need.

Skipping meals is not a good way to lose weight or balance out the heavy meal you had before- it will only deprive your body of the nutrients and fats it needs to function, and it will actually absorb more of the fats and nutrients in your next meal. Instead, eat lightly in moderate amounts, gaining the nutrients you need in every small meal.

8) Drink, drink, drink! Keep yourself hydrated with water!

DO

Consume enough fluids and other foods to keep yourself hydrated throughout the day.

DON'T

Neglect to hydrate yourself, or consume only juices and milk for hydration.
