Jennica T. Tanteo espect begets respect.” It is a common yet meaningful saying. Actually, as I ponder on reading this, I notice that dilemma hides behind that quotation. Conflict arises because everybody wants to be respected. Take note, “everybody wants to be respected.” The conflict? Well, let’s just say that there are specific people who tend to just look at themselves, saying who they are, reiterating their position, stating their agenda, enumerating what they did, and so on. They just focus on themselves, saying “me, myself, and I. “Egocentric right? The saddest thing is, they forget on looking down, they become one-sided, where, in fact, they should not. Maybe you are now confused on who I am referring to. Are you? Who knows, what you’re thinking right now is the same as what I do, because I will not tell you directly who “they” are. I guess you just have to read between the lines. Respecting others is easy as long as You know how to respect yourself. Show people around you that you deserve to be valued, that you’re worth it. Do what is good for others, not for your own selfishness. Think of the rights of others instead of thinking of your own good. Act as an educated man but don’t brag. Speak the truth, beware of the lie.“Respect begets respect”, for it cannot be bought; it is given. Moreover, once you have it, it will be permanent and no one could take it away from you.
