Cox Enterprises Vice President of Compensation Mandy Shuck and her team , for example , designed the new Career Ahead framework to provide greater transparency and consistency across divisions to facilitate mobility . And through Cox Gigs at Cox Enterprises and Cox Automotive , employees can now take on real-world business projects to involve them in different parts of the business . “ We ’ re looking at ways to help people create that career jungle gym to expose them to the opportunities available ,” she said .

PUTTING THE PIECES TOGETHER
The hiring of Kyle Bautista , a software engineer at Kelley Blue Book ( KBB ), is a perfect example of how multiple pieces of the puzzle come together to land the best talent .
Kyle heard about an open position at KBB from a friend who already worked there . During the interview process , he was excited to hear the company was working at the forefront of technology that interested him . It also helped that , unlike in his previous position , he would be able to work a flexible , hybrid remote work schedule .
Kyle also thoroughly enjoyed the interview process . “ It was just a fun experience ,” he said . “ The people I talked to , I felt calm and relaxed talking to them , even though it was like the final round of the interviews .”
Once he started at KBB , Kyle was happy to find he wasn ’ t doing “ grunt work ,” but was instead doing interesting projects the right way . Looking ahead , he ’ s optimistic about his future with Cox . “ I can grow and learn the latest technologies here ,” he said .
