From MIAC, Kyle chose to focus on the fine lined patterns of the Ancestral Pueblo pottery and their modern interpretations made by the skilled potters of Acoma Pueblo. From

MOIFA, he chose to focus on a series of

darning samplers, made in the 1700s, from Germany and the Netherlands.

What I find most interesting about Kyle’s designs is that he considered the four “M”s I outline below (maker, motif, method, and material) and reinterpreted the material with astounding creativity.
