With such in mind, I would like to share one last licensing and design story. Finding the right licensee takes time and research. Generally, I look for manufacturers or designers who bring to market designs clearly rooted in cultural traditions or that work with artisan manufacturers.
Jan Kath, the German carpet designer, is a
good example of both. He has developed collections inspired by cultural traditions Boro textiles from Japan, the abundant florals of Eastern Europe, and others.
