Nicaraguan Red Cross' Feasibility Study establishes Tropical Storms, Volcanic Ash and Drought as priority hazards
ith the participation
of more than 20 people from different areas of the Nicaraguan Red Cross was held the workshop for the conclusion of the Feasibility Study in Nicaragua.
The event took place during the week of October 11-15 in Managua, to collect in a participatory manner, the critical elements for the conclusion of the feasibility study that will allow a better understanding of the priorities, capacities and
needs of the National Society and the Management Management System of the Nicaraguan Red Cross for the implementation of the FbF mechanism in the country.
As part of the activities connected to the Study, a meeting was held with FAO, WFP, OFENA and the National Roundtable for Risk Management, identified as key external stakeholders.
From the analysis of historical impacts, the National Society established that the hazards prioritized for Early Action Plans' development will be: Droughts, Tropical Storms and Volcanic Ashfall.
