Exchange at a partner university
• The exchange programme is a voluntary option offered by the University
of St.Gallen (HSG).
Applicants are not guaranteed an exchange place.
• The selection process takes place once a year.
• Students are selected through the selection process conducted by
Student Mobility (SMO).
• The exchange is limited to one HSG semester at Bachelor level.
• An exchange at a partner university is possible from the 5th semester of
the Bachelor degree.
• Coursework completed at the host university may be credited insofar as
possible towards the HSG Bachelor degree.
• A minimum of 90 ECTS of 180 ECTS must be acquired at the HSG.
• All admission conditions must be successfully completed as stated in the
HSG compensation rules for admission conditions including official notification of results by the time the exchange term begins.
• Participation in the exchange programme does not incur any additional
HSG tuition fees. All HSG students remain enrolled at the University of
St.Gallen during their exchange term.
• Simultaneous application for the same semester in the same academic
year for exchange at a partner university, Freemover, Swiss Mobility and
Globalship Programme is not permitted.
• Students cancelling an allocated place are not permitted to apply to any
other programme.
General application prerequisites
• Enrolled in a HSG Bachelor programme at the time of application.
• For an exchange in the 5th or 6th semester: 4.50 grade average in the
studies (Assessment Year). The grade average will be rounded to two
decimal points.
• For an exchange in the 7th or 8th semester: The cumulative weighed
grade average of the Assessment Year and Bachelor grades up until the
semester preceding the application must be at least 4.50 and will be rounded to two decimal points.
