This year between March and October felt like I lived a lifetime in seven months . As a good basketball player the Amateur Athletic Union season of your junior year is very important . It can make or break your ability to get a college offer . It is very important to be at every tournament and let college coaches see you play . In March , at the start of the AAU season , I was not on a team yet , and this was not good .
My AAU journey began in Albany . I was going to try to play with an EYBL circuit team . This circuit is the most competitive league in the country . There were a couple of workouts and practices that were not that good because I could not seem to fit in with anybody on that team .
Then there was another team tryout with a team that played on the Under Armor circuit and the practices went great . I thought I found the team . But there were some miscommunications with that team and the coaches , so I ended up not playing with that team . More uncertainty and disappointment .
Then , I am told that there is another team for me . It was a Hoop Group team in the HGSL , which was the best independent circuit in the country . I went to a couple practices and decided this was the right place for me . I got a lot of attention with college coaches ; they began to know who I was . The next tournament was in Pittsburgh . I was finally able to pick up my first two D1 scholarship offers from LIU-Brooklyn and Robert Morris University . I was so happy and excited that I finally got offers . I could finally relax , like a huge weight had finally been lifted off my shoulders .
