She made over 40 films with all her own inventions. She had worked around the limitations of being a women in the film industry, she worked like an artist rather than a film-maker. She used ancient techniques to base her stories on fairytales, and to date has no rivals for her brilliant creations. This was done by cutting out sheets of lead and cardboard, taking the ancient arts of shadow-plays, and made it her own for cinema presentation. She created these films by painstaking paper characters so slightly and capturing the photo of each movements. This has been taken across from the original production, and taken it to make the models movement look as realistic as possible. She would bring puppets to life by capturing the difference between frames, over the years Reiniger developed her portfolio of animated shorts, taking from the most familiar fairy tales, such as Cinderella, and Hansel & Gretel. "I could cut out silhouettes almost as soon as I could manage to hold a pair of scissors," she wrote. "I could paint, too, and read and recite; but these things did not surprise anyone very much. But everybody was astonished about the scissor cuts."   http://www.vox.com/2016/6/2/11827922/lotte-reiniger-117th-birthday-google-doodle https://www.theguardian.com/film/2016/jun/02/lotte-reiniger-the-pioneer-of-silhouette-animationgoogle-doodle Willis H.
