Soils analysis was undertaken at 0-10cm and 20-50cm depths . Soils are clays and mostly have a pH in the range 7 – 8 with CEC rating overall suggesting reasonable availability of nutrients . EC ratings are low except for plot 4 which is very high salinity . Plot 4 is also very sodic . Organic Carbon is low suggesting low availability of nitrogen and sulphur and a restriction on plant growth . Phosphorus is high in the topsoil of all plots .
