cups, crackers, raisins, etc. She added that her
goal for this year is to be able to add fresh fruit in
each sack. The shopping, storing, preparing and
packaging is done by unpaid volunteers. In 2014,
an estimated $45,000 will be spent to supply these
food sacks for the elementary and Pre-K group alone.
The number and distribution of sacks is determined
by the teachers in the schools. As the organizers
sat motionless listening to these numbers and facts,
their passion to feed the children of North Central
Oklahoma grew greatly.
Once the information had been presented, Lynn
Youngblood, General Manager, Forman HarleyDavidson said, “To have the knowledge that there
are this many children who are worried about whether
they will eat over the weekend is devastating. We
feel we must do something to eliminate this problem.
So, we’ve gathered with a group who we know can
create a successful fundraising event. ”
