Kickin’ Childhood Hunger
We are proud to announce
the collaboration of four
Oklahoma companies coming
together to help children. Kickin’
Childhood Hunger is an event to
raise funds to assist children’s
food programs in North Central
Oklahoma. The event will
take place August 23, 2014
in Stillwater, OK beginning at
Forman Harley-Davidson with a
parade through town to a party
and concert at Kicker.
Childhood hunger is a
statewide epidemic that will not
go away on its own. This stark
fact was recently reviewed by
event organizers from Kicker,
Forman Harley-Davidson,

Demaree, Brand Marketing
Manager of Kicker stated,
“We are real excited about
the opportunities in working
with this group of businesses
in our company’s hometown
for such a worthwhile cause.”
In their research, the group
found the facts astonishing
as they learned the number
of children from the Stillwater
school system who receive
assistance by taking home
food sacks during the school
year. The event representatives
asked the director of the local
children’s food program to
describe how she and a small
team of volunteers supply up
to 250 sacks of food for kids in

need every week. Sadly, that is
only the number for children in
the elementary, early headstart
and childhood development in
Stillwater. An additional nonprofit group supply food sacks
to the middle school children.
Each sack in both groups are
funded completely through
donations.
Glenna, the director of
the program for the younger
children, said, “It’s challenging,
on this budget, to supply the
children with nutritional foods
which can be eaten for a few
days, without preparation.” She
finished with, “but somehow we
do it.” She went on to explain
that the sacks contain items
such as: pudding cups, cereal
