KBR delivers wastewater upgrade GE Aerospace invests USD1bn
KBR, as part of the North West Hub Alliance( NWHA) with Sydney Water, John Holland and Stantec, will deliver the next scheme of wastewater treatment growth works in Sydney’ s north-west, valued at AUD 300M. Expected to be completed by late 2029, the wastewater facilities upgrade is designed to meet the rapid population growth in the area, creating an opportunity for an additional 200,000 new household connections. NWHA will be responsible for the design, procurement, construction and commissioning phases for their North West Treatment Hub sites, which include Riverstone, Rouse Hill and Castle Hill Water Resource Recovery Facilities( WRRFs). Scheme 2 builds on the strong progress already underway for Scheme 1, which includes significant upgrades being delivered across the North West Treatment Hub, including a new biosolids handling plant at Riverstone WRRF.
Vallourec secures a CSS contract
GE Aerospace plans to invest another USD 1bn in its US manufacturing sites and supplier base during 2026 to help accelerate engine deliveries, ramp production of parts that safely extend time between maintenance shop visits, and strengthen defence production to keep pace with military demand. The 2026 investment will benefit sites across more than 30 communities in 17 states. Since 2024, GE Aerospace has announced plans to invest more than USD 2.5bn across its US manufacturing sites and supplier base, including approximately USD 600M in sites producing defence engines during the last three years. This manufacturing investment is in addition to the nearly USD 3bn GE Aerospace invests annually in research and development. The investment expands capacity at sites producing and assembling commercial and defence engines. This includes USD 115M in Cincinnati, Ohio- home to GE Aerospace’ s headquarters- to modernise infrastructure, increase test cell capacity, and expand advanced 3D metal printing capabilities.
Vallourec has secured a contract with BP Berau Ltd. to supply premium Corrosion Resistant Alloy( CRA) pipes and VAM ® connections for the development of the Tangguh project, the first Carbon Capture and Storage( CCS) offshore project, in Papua Barat province, Indonesia. Vallourec will also provide its Tubular Management Services and VAM ® Field Service, delivering technical support throughout the project lifecycle, from supply and installation to operational supervision. This achievement confirms Vallourec’ s technical expertise in addressing the complex challenges of offshore CCS projects, a strategically important area for global energy transformation and demonstrates the Group’ s ability to combine premium tubular solutions with value-added services for its clients.
Gpi Tanks tanks for Cargill
Gpi Tanks has supplied eight stainless steel storage tanks for Cargill’ s new plant in Gouda. Cargill Bioindustrial B. V. in Gouda specialises in producing biobased ingredients for industrial applications, such as lubricants, coatings, plastics, and cleaning agents. At its Gouda site, the company has opened a new plant for the production of sustainable insulating oil. For the storage of raw materials and intermediate products within this new facility, eight stainless steel storage tanks were realised. Gpi handled the engineering, production, and delivery of these tanks.
