Ms. Kimberly Cantwell
Principal, Royalview Elementary School
Ms. Kimberly Cantwell joins Willoughby-Eastlake after serving as a principal at Benjamin
Franklin School in the Cleveland Metropolitan School district for eleven years. In addition to
serving as a building principal, Kim has also worked as an assistant principal and a physical
education teacher. She has served on numerous professional development and leadership
committees including the Cleveland Metropolitan District team for negotiations with the
Cleveland Teachers Union, the Teacher Development Evaluation System Steering Committee,
and the Ohio Improvement Process Committee.
Kim earned a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education and Health from Kent State University;
a Certification in Learning Disabilities from Cleveland State University; a Master of Education,
Curriculum and Instruction from Cleveland State University and an Administration Principal
License (ages 3-14) from Cleveland State University. Kim brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to WilloughbyEastlake.
Mrs. Lisa George
Assistant Principal, Edison Elementary School
Prior to her appointment as an assistant principal, Mrs. Lisa George has been a teacher in
Willoughby-Eastlake since 1992. Lisa has experience teaching students in the fourth and
fifth grades as well as serving as a tutor for learning disabled students. In addition to
teaching, Lisa has been a grade level chairperson, facilitated TBT meetings, served on the
Building and District Leadership Teams, supervised MAP testing, assisted with numerous
curriculum development activities, and has participated in the Ohio Integrated Systems
Module: School-wide Tier Supports and Intensive Tier Supports.
Lisa obtained a Bachelor of Science in Education degree at Notre Dame College of Ohio
and from Cleveland State University she has earned a Master of Education and Instruction
and an Administrative License. Lisa’s broad experience combined with her strong
background in curriculum makes her a perfect fit for her new position.
Mrs. Laurie Hoynes
Assistant Principal, Grant Elementary School
Most recently, Laurie worked as an intervention specialist at Washington Elementary where
she has been teaching since 2004. During her tenure at Washington, she was voted the Teacher
of the Year by her peers in 2013, and was recognized as a Region 4 State Support Team
Outstanding Teacher in 2009.
Mrs. Laurie Hoynes earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Human and Consumer Science
from Ohio University with a major in Child and Family Services and a minor in Psychology.
She then earned a Master’s of Education with Licensure in Mild to Moderate Special
Education from Notre Dame College before completing the Educational Administration
program leading to her principal’s license for grades Pre-K to 9 from Ashland University.
Laurie’s strong education and leadership skills will be an asset to Willoughby-Eastlake City
Schools.
