August 25, 2014 District Update IMPROVE STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT!       Willoughby-Eastlake Welcomes Our New Hires! I am pleased to announce the appointment of several new employees to our school district. Our newest employees bring with them a wealth of experience and knowledge and have served in a variety of educational positions. Please join me in welcoming them to their positions. Mrs. Allison Aber Principal, Longfellow Elementary School Mrs. Allison Aber comes to the district from Madison Middle School where she served as an assistant principal since 2010. Prior to her administrative experience, Allison taught English language arts and math at both the elementary and middle school levels for a combined five years. Allison is active in several committees including: the Lake-Geauga Assistant Principals Association, Ohio Association of Secondary School Administrators, Assistant Principals Committee and the Ohio Middle School Association. Mrs. Aber is well prepared to take on this new role. Allison is an Ohio University graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Middle Childhood Education; she has a teaching license in language arts and math grades 4-9 and a K-12 Reading Endorsement as well. She earned a Master’s of Arts in Educational Administration in a dual partnership program through Youngstown State and Cleveland State University. Mrs. Rachel Aho Principal, Grant Elementary School Mrs. Rachel Aho has moved from her position as an assistant principal serving Grant Elementary and Edison Elementary to a full time position as the principal at Grant Elementary. Prior to her two years as an assistant principal, Rachel taught in grades K-3 as a classroom teacher. Rachel earned a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education at Cleveland State University and a Master of Arts in Educational Administration from Ursuline College. She has participated in many of our district committees and has served as a member of our District Leadership Team (DLT) and Building Leadership Team (BLT). As a classroom teacher, Rachel has worked with school personnel for the Positive Behavior System (PBS) initiative, served as a principal for the district summer program, supervised summer phonics program and facilitated IAT and IEP meetings and team meetings. Rachel is a tireless worker and we welcome her to this new position.
