Mrs. Laurel Ravida
Curriculum Coordinator
Mrs. Laurel Ravida has assumed her new role with Willoughby-Eastlake after serving as
an assistant principal at St. Rita School in Solon, Ohio. During her tenure at St. Rita,
Laurel participated in activiti es such as, development of educational objectives and goals
for the school’s continuous improvement plan, assessment of the effectiveness of the
Accelerated Reading Program through data collection and analysis and establishing
professional learning communities by grouping teachers together to formulate goals and
worked to project allocated budget by analyzing current year enrollment and predicting
future estimated enrollment. Prior to being an assistant principal, Laurel was a classroom
teacher to second grade students. .
Laurel earned a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education at the University of Mount
Union and a Master of Arts in Educational Administration from John Carroll University.
She has been awarded the Dr. Sally H. Werthiem Educational Leadership Scholarship, the William P. Hoffman
Educational Administration Scholarship and is a member of the Alpha Lambda Delta Honors Fraternity.
We look forward to utilizing Laurel’s vast knowledge and expertise in our Curriculum Department.
Mrs. Kati Tomco
Special Education Supervisor
Mrs. Kati Tomco earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Manchester
University as well as a Master of Science in Professional Counseling from John Carroll
University. Additionally, she has earned an Alternative Administrative Specialist License
from Capella University.
Kati’s diverse work experience has given her expertise in many areas. She has just
finished serving as the Director of Special Education in Madison Local Schools. Prior to
accepting a position as the Director of Special Education she has held the positions of
Special Education Supervisor, Behavior Specialist and Child/Youth Specialist. Kati has
had a wide range of responsibilities including the monitoring of compliance with all
special education services; interpretation of special education laws, rules and regulations,
and developing a procedural handbook for federal, state, and local policies. With her understanding of so many facets of
education, Katie will be a true asset to Willoughby-Eastlake.
Mr. Patrick Ward
Principal, South High School
Mr. Ward comes to us from Mayfield City Schools where he served as an Assistant
Principal and as a Biology teacher. Pat has also had experience as an adjunct
professor at John Carroll University, an adjunct professor at Ursuline College and as
an adjunct professor at Tri-C Community College. He has served on numerous
committees including: evaluation committees, STEM committees, the District
Leadership Team and a Building Security Committee.
Pat earned a Bachelors of Science in Biology from John Carroll University, a Masters
of Science in Curriculum from Walden University and a Masters of Science in
Educational Leadership from Ursuline College. He is currently studying as a Doctoral
Student at Walden University with a dissertation proposal of: Measuring Dimensions
of Professional Learning Communities to Predict Secondary School Climate. Pat’s knowledge and experience will add to
our efforts to Improve Student Achievement.
