Rev Campbell is the Senior Minister at St Andrews, where they held a
special service to mark the 500th anniversary. At that service the choir
sang the introit ‘He who from the Father came’ and the anthem ‘Christ
Jesus lay in death’s strong bands’ using the original words of Martin
Luther. The congregation sang Luther’s famous hymn ‘A mighty strong-
hold is our God’.
Rev Campbell comes from the Presbyterian Church in Ireland and tells
how as a young Christian he was encouraged to read ‘Historical Tales
for young Protestants’ which has a chapter about Luther entitled ‘The
monk that shook the world’.
