500th Jubilee
St Margaret’s didn’t really mark the 50th anniversary of the It got a brief
mention in a church service and there was an image on the cover of last
month’s issue showing our past Minister, Paul Swadling, nailing a facsimile of
Martin Luther's 95 Theses to a door. But that was it.
Allan Asquith passed on an article with the suggestion that it be reproduced in
this magazine because we at St Margaret’s are part of the heritage, particularly
as we started out as Presbyterians.
The article is the address delivered by Rev David Campbell at a service to
mark the Jubilee at St Peter’s Lutheran Church in Reid on 18 September. It
was published in the December 2017 issue of The Echo, the newsletter of St
Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Canberra.
The article was received too late to seek permission to reproduce it and, in any
event, there is insufficient pace to include it all in this issue and, by next Febru-
ary, it will be somewhat out-of-date for inclusion.
