St.  Andrews  International  School,  Green  Valley   March  27,  2014   Twanya Sings Her Way To First Place Twice St Andrews Continuing Support of Habitat For Humanity       On Fri 28th February St Andrews sent 5 students to the KPIS Music Challenge in Bangkok. Twanya from Year 12 entered the singing competition and our school band White Jack (Gla, Gun, Aum and Dew) were in the Rock Band division. The judges for the competition were professionals in the field of music and entertainment such as SAE Institute, Rock School, Superstar Academy and BEC Tero. In total 19 schools entered into this competition. Our school band White Jack equipped themselves very well and end up coming 4th which was a great result. Twanya was the last of 18 contestants to sing and by that stage was quite nervous. However, when her turn came she wowed the judges and the crowd to win 1st place!! Twanya’s 1st place result was obviously no fluke as a week before the KPIS competition she also won Best in Thailand from the Trinity College London Award, Female Vocal Exam category for Senior students with 100 marks out of 100!. A heartfelt thanks goes to Khun Karn, father of Gla and Gun, Aum’s dad, Dew’s mum and Twanya’s mum and dad for their loving and unconditional support which mean so much to the kids and our community spirit; and definitely to our teachers that have given them encouragement and continuous support in every thoughtful way.   4     As a part of St Andrews continuing involvement in community service projects, some of our year 12 students and staff will be   completing another building for Habitat for Humanity on April 4 and 5. This project is at a local learning centre located about 5km from the school. If you would like to get involved on Saturday April 5 please contact Ms Randall ([email protected]). Funding for this project is coming from money raised at the St Andrews School Fair.
