Rollmac: Excellence in Glass Roller Coating
With decades of experience in roller machinery design, Rollmac has introduced the reverse roller coating system to the glass industry.
This innovative printing technique uses an engraved roller that rotates in the opposite direction to the movement of the glass sheet, allowing thick layers of enamel( up to 220 microns) to be applied in a single pass. The result is a high quality mirror-like surface that is perfectly uniform and free from defects. An interesting feature is the ability to recall and reprint the printed sheet eliminating the need for washing in case of defects. The process removes the existing enamel layer and reprints it, with no overcoatings. Rollmac offers a range of roller coating solutions designed to meet various production needs. The product lineup includes three main models: Multiglass, Colorglass, and Jumboglass. Multiglass is the ideal machine for those seeking maximum operational flexibility. Designed for enamelling, painting, and design printing of glass sheets, it can store up to three different engraved cylinders, allowing quick roller changes. An automatic roller cleaning system is available for this model, a device that carries out the operation autonomously without the need for operator intervention. Colorglass is a single-cylinder machine, perfect for applications that require less frequent adjustments to the amount of enamel applied. It is suitable for in-house laboratory or production lines. Jumboglass is a newly designed single-cylinder roller coater, specifically developed for painting and enamelling large format(‘ jumbo’ size) glass sheets, commonly used in the construction industry for skyscraper cladding and structural glass. Like all Rollmac roller machines, it is equipped with an anti-drip device that ensures uniform and precise coverage. To complete its range of solutions, Rollmac also offers the Glassline edge coater, designed for painting the edges of glass sheets. It is available in a semi-automatic version, where the operator manually controls the rotation of the sheets, and in a fully automatic version that includes the Automatic Sheet Rotation( ASR) device. The latter is particularly useful for those glass sheets that are too large or heavy for manual handling. All Rollmac machines are Industry 4.0 ready, enabling remote monitoring, troubleshooting, and real-time software updates. Their simple and efficient design significantly reduces both operating time and costs. In just 15 minutes, the unit can be completely cleaned and ready for an enamel change. Maintenance is also simplified, with a lower average consumption of spare parts. Finally, Rollmac offers a wide range of engraved rollers, from traditional chrome-plated steel models to rubber sleeves, to ensure perfect coating quality on any type of glass sheet.
