Files and Folders You will have books and study guides and handouts and lecture slides everywhere, not to mention assignment drafts, backup copies, classroom resources, and maybe even photos for journals or experiments. Have one file for each unit and keep everything that you can in it - any handouts, your unit guide, lecture slide print outs, notes and draft assignments (just in case your computer crashes). Have files for any classroom resources and worksheets you might collect and one file specifically for your pracs. Your prac file should have any lessons you have done, photos of work samples, any written comments from your teachers or supervisors and your end of prac reports. Keep it safe for the whole duration of your course. Your digital files need structure as well. Have a different folder for uni things and inside that have one for each unit and anything else you might need (like lesson ideas, WWCC, etc). Colour Code Colour coding might just look like fun but it serves a real purpose too. In the morning when you wake up late, you haven't packed your bag and you needed to be at your lecture 5 minutes ago colour coding can save precious seconds. Have one colour for each unit. Make your file that colour, make the cover page of your unit guide that colour, use that colour in your timetable and diary. For 4 months of the year, every time you see that colour you will think of that one unit. It might be easier to choose the colour from the colour of your textbooks too, then everything is the same. You can colour code your highlighting, notes and book tabs
