It has been said time and time again, throughout your life and here in this magazine, that organisation is paramount! Use this tips and get organised quickly and easily. Use ONE calendar or diary I would say that a diary is easier to use because you can carry it with you, but I appreciate that some people like calendars so everything is right there in front of them. If this sounds like you, then maybe think about getting a diary with monthly overviews at the front. Put everything into this one diary. Class times, assignment due dates, things you need for classes, events, meetings, study times, parties EVERYTHING. If it is all in one place then you won't double book and you can see everything at once. Have a study plan No, just going to your classes is not enough. For every unit point (generally 3-4 points per unit) you are expected to spend 50 hours on that unit throughout the semester. I know this sounds like a lot, and it is, but you will more than likely spend this time on a unit wether its planned study or lots of late nights trying to read your books so that you can write assignments. Write it into your diary and you will know not to plan other events when you should be studying. Are you really going to sit there for 6 hours and study... at home... on your bed... with the TV on or your little brother nagging you? Plan your time in one hour chunks, then give yourself a break. Get a coffee, go for a walk, have lunch. Plan where you're going to study as well. Make separate places for studying and relaxing and, if you need to, head into uni and sit in the library. If its midnight then go to the 24 hour learning common (using your student card to access it) or if you need peace and quiet go to level four (that is the silent zone).
