LETTER FROM THE DIRECTOR OF GOLF BRAD’S BUGLE With or without COVID-19, the club is doing well. We are trying as hard as possible to be safe, healthy and play golf. This roller coaster is and has been one of a kind. We feel like we have done it all and then are thrown this curveball to deal with. We are beyond appreciative for your help and consideration to help keep everyone healthy and safe. As for business, we have been doing great. Our biggest obstacle has continued to be staffing. We lost a large percentage of our Cart, Ranger and Starter team due to season coming to an end and nervousness of the COVID-19 situation. The golf shop staff is protected by plexi-glass at each POS station and golf bags are set up as dividers for golfers to choose one line or the other. We have taped off spots on the floor to keep all customers at least 6 feet apart as recommended by the CDC. We continue to use wipes and sanitizer daily. The goal is to keep all the counter “touchspots” as clean as possible for those who do come inside. As for the carts, we are fully sanitizing them between every single round of golf. In the mindset of continuing social distancing, we have not had any official merchandise sales but do not be afraid to ask us for sale pricing on clothing and shoes. With the national news agencies doing such a great job of making people nervous, we here are also going to be very careful with our incoming merchandise for this upcoming season. For example, we went all out last season and because COVID-19 hit in early March, we still have some product in boxes. Our plan is to back off clothing and clubs a bit and focus on the basic products that golf shops commonly sell through. It is normally a reciprocal time of year but that has been hampered by COVID-19 and we are STILL struggling to find courses available for you to play. Almost no Naples courses are doing any type of reciprocals and if they are it is after 12:00 pm when it is extremely hot. But again, please, do not be afraid to ask us to call any and every course you are interested in. Sincerely, Brad Davis Director of Golf 7 |
