Document involves the sale of land in Maysville, Kentucky, also signed by several officials. Small holes where folds cross not affecting legibility; folds expertly reinforced on verso. Scalloped at top edge. Very good condition. (University Archives LOA). 470 /D 1824 AARON BURR SIGNED COURT DOCUMENT ........................................................................... PH $1200-1700 Manuscript document signed ‘A. Burr’ measures 8"x12½”, three pages front & back, last page docketed and measures 8"x9½”. From New York City, dated September 22, 1824. Lengthy Writ of Subpoena concerning the case of Rachel Eden, involving a property and inheritance dispute regarding numbers 38 & 40 Gold St. in Manhattan. Document is secretarial with signature and few corrections added by Burr. Weak folds repaired with archival tape, and minor loss along right margins, else fine condition. (University Archives LOA). 471 472 / Somewhat ratty but intact and extremely RARE cover, stamped and addressed in Custer’s hand to ‘Mrs. Genl. Custer’ in what amounts to his autograph as addressee. Autograph is completely unaffected by water stains, edge wear and professionally repaired tears on reverse. Cover mailed May 6, 1864, locally, with Custer making the notation ‘Printed Matter’ near top. Sanders values a War Date cut signature at $3,700. PH $2500-3500 Manuscript document constituting a scale drawing & survey for a pacel of land measuring ‘one eighth of a league.’ Document measures 8"x12¾” and folded in fourths for filing. Signed by surveyor J.E. Scott and assistants Connell & More. On back signed by David Ayers of Center Hill, who received the last letter from the Alamo by William Travis, asking him to take care of his son.
