Ephemera, includes a large travel scrapbook, photos, used
passports, personal papers & documents, various ticket stubs,
personal military documents, various booklets and much more.
Collected from many different sources. A tremendous variety
of material with hundreds of different pieces. Have fun!

/D 1873 GEORGE A. CUSTER WRITTEN, SIGNED
CHECK .............................................................. PH $6000-8000

Check (7"x2¾”) drawn on Planters National Bank of Louisville,
written entirely in Custer’s hand. Check, dated Feb. 21, 1873,
was written just weeks prior to the 7th Cavalry leaving
Kentucky for the Dakotas. The 7th Cavalry had been assigned
to Elizabethtown, KY, fighting the Ku Klux Klan, bushwhackers and closing down illegal distilleries. The post was
terminated after the 7th left on March 7, 1873. Check payable
to Thomas Polk & Co., a bank. Barely noticeable spindle cancel
near center and ink bleed-through from endorsements that
barely touch the first stroke of Custer’s ‘G.’. Stamp has been
re-affixed. Extremely RARE and historically significant.

Box of materials relating to this San Francisco event on Apr
18, 1906 including large B&W panoramic foldouts (x5, worn),
postcard sheets (x3, worn), Los Angeles newspaper from 4-20,
magazine photos, a US Army street pass dated 4-21, ‘Views’
and ‘Two Years After Fire’ booklets (x4, used), and more. Even
a couple items on the building of the Golden Gate Bridge.

Partly printed document signed by Joseph Pulitzer. Filled out
likely by secretary, signed by two witnesses and Pulitzer,
authorizing his brother-in-law William Leonard Davis as
‘attorney and agent with power of substitution...to vote as my
proxy at the meeting of stockholders of the Pulitzer Publishing
Co.’ Signature is his however, as such a document would require
an actual signature. By this point Pulitzer was almost blind
and rarely signed documents himself. Rare. (University
