Large group of photos and slides including about 100 8"x10"
glossy photos and about 250 slides on the Coast Guard
throughout the years as well as a selection of about 150 8"x10"
glossy photos of military Color Guards, ceremonial units,
bands, etc. Nice group and most have an owner’s sticker on
the back.

1919 VINTAGE LIFE PRESERVER RING FROM
‘S.S. SIBONEY’ .................................................... PH $300-400
Vintage life preserver ring taken from the American transport
ship S.S. Siboney. Ring measures 30" in diameter and 3" in
width. All off-white, with 'SIBONEY / NEW YORK' stenciled
around the surface in black paint. Original rescue rope lines
still intact. Some surface wear, but overall very good condition.
S.S. Siboney originally a troop transport during World War I;
later re-christened in early 1920s and served as a cargo and
personnel transport well into the 1940s. From the famous Ward
Line, this ship was part of the same group of liners that included
the ill-fated S.S. Morro Castle.

Gorham, Washington, D.C., stamps Nathan Hale & Harding.

1940s VINTAGE LIFE PRESERVER HORSESHOE RING
FROM ‘S.S. NOORDAM’ ...................................... PH $300-400
A vintage horseshoe-shaped life
preserver ring from the Dutch
Transatlantic Ocean Liner the
Noordam. Stood on its ends, its
height measures 30", and 4" thick.
Printed along the curve surface
'Noordam Rotterdam'. This specific
freighter operated out of Rotterdam
and sailed between 1938 and 1963;
the ring dates likely to the late
1940s or early 1950s. Part of the
rescue line rope still attached.
Shows some significant wear, but
it is still a magnificent piece.

1960s VINTAGE LIFE PRESERVER RING FROM
‘L. DA VINCI’ ......................................................... PH $300-400
A vintage life preserver ring from the ship Leonardo Da Vinci.
This splendid nautical artifact measures approximately 30"
in diameter and about 3" thick. Stenciled in broad ink along
the top, 'L. DA VINCI', and along the bottom, 'GENOVA'.
Connecting line ropes for pulling in rescued individuals still
attached. The S.S. Da Vinci was actually the replacement ship
for the ill-fated S.S. Andrea Doria, which famously was sunk
in 1956. Ring is in excellent shape, with only minor wear.

1960s VINTAGE LIFE PRESERVER RING FROM
THE ‘S.S. FRANCE’ ............................................. PH $300-400
A vintage life preserver ring taken from the French passenger
ship the S.S. France. Preserver measures 27" in diameter and
about 3" in width. Stenciled on the orange covering 'FRANCE
/ LE HAVRE', with some writing the 'S/S' in ink to the left of
'FRANCE'. Some significant damage to the outer covering with
tears and mold stains. Carries original rescue line rope still
attached. This version of the S.S. France was launched in 1961,
and at the time through 2004 was the longest passenger ship
ever built; it was renamed the S.S. Norway in 1979. Excellent
nautical artifact.

‘S.S. SANTA ROSA’ .............................................. PH $300-400
Vintage life preserver ring from the passenger/cargo ocean
liner the S.S. 'Santa Rosa'. Ring measures 27" in diameter,
about 3½" in width. Painted along the ring: 'S.S. Santa Rosa /
New York'. Also has painted banners indicating that this was
part of the Grace Line. This version of the Santa Rosa was
launched in 1958, and was later renamed the S.S. Emerald.
The Santa Rosa was famously involved in a 1959 collision
with a tanker, the S.S. Valchem. Original rescue rope still
attached.

thick. ‘S.S. President
Harrison / Oakland CA’
stenciled in thick black
ink circumnavigates
the ring. Rescue rope
still attached. Some
definite wear to this
item, with various rips
and tears and some
original duct tape. The
President Harrison was
part of the Dollar
Shipping Company fleet of cargo ships that sailed during the
first half of the 20th century.
