PH $750-1000 French postal card sent from Zionist leader & author Vladimir Jabotinsky and his wife to his mother in Palestine. Text in old-style Russian, Jabotinsky signed simply as ‘V.’ Addressed to Madame Jabotinsky in Jerusalem, card forwarded to Tel-Aviv. Wife also adds a few lines below his signature. Fine to very fine. (University Archives LOA with full translation). 1933 YITZHAK BEN-ZVI SIGNED LETTER ........ PH $400-600 Typed letter in Hebrew, dated June 6, 1933, with excess margins folded to 8x10", on Jewish Community of Palestine/General Council (Vaad Leumi) stationery, addressed to Litwinsky Brothers in Tel Aviv. Signed at bottom ‘Y. Ben Zvi’ in black ink, letter explains some taxation issues. Ben-Zvi was head of Vaad Leumi at the time. Very fine. (University Archives LOA). One page handwritten letter to Mr. Gordon from Vladimir (Ze’ev) Jabotinsky, signed ‘Z Jabotinksy’, asking for the return of a book ‘The Hebrew Grammar’ (in Latin characters). A similar book published by Jabotinsky in 1930 in Tel Aviv is included. Letter dated August 6, 1920, light foxing, fine. 544 / 550 547 / 1934 WILHELM FRICK SIGNED POSTCARD .... PH $300-400 Unmailed postal card with official photograph of Dr. Wilhelm Frick. Signed in black ink at bottom as simply ‘Frick’. He was Interior Minister for Nazi Germany and author of the infamous Nuremberg laws against Jews. Also included a reproduction photo of Frick after being hanged at Nuremberg. View photo online $350-500 German 6pf postal card with 5/21/39 Magdeburg postmark with special inscription ‘Der ewige Jude’ at bottom. Card signed in purple pencil by Julius Streicher, Gauleiter of Franconia and editor of ‘Der Sturmer’ newspaper, an author of many anti-Semitic publications. He was hung after the Nuremberg trials. Also includes press photo of Streicher and modern reproduction photo of the museum housing Der Ewige Jude art exhibition. 549 1944 CHAIM WEIZMANN SIGNED LETTER .. PH $1500-2000 Typed letter on The Jewish Agency for Palestine stationery, signed in green by future Israeli president Chaim Weizmann, in Hebrew, dated December 6, 1944. Addressed to Y. Kosoy, Rehovot Workers’ Council, letter reads ‘Dear Kosoy, Your words and your wishes moved my heart. I was pleased to receive such loyal wishes. Very truly yours, Chaim Weizmann [signature]/C. Weizmann.’ Fine with the usual folds. 550 545 Saint Louis, Missouri Autographs 04.pmd Typed letter on ‘Le Populaire’ letterhead, signed by Leon Blum, former premier of France. One page in French, dated October 18, 1949, Paris, regarding a meeting with Chaim Weizmann. ‘Please kindly thank Doctor WEIZMANN for his invitation, but I truly cannot go twice to Israel a few months apart, and as it seem more prudent to postpone this trip until spring, I am sticking to the project that we had set up together at your house.’ Very fine. Carmania stationery (Cunard line), dated November 16, 1927, written & signed by Zionist leader Henrietta Szold. Addressed to Elisha Friedman, a member of the American Friends of the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, and on the Finance Committee of the Palestine Endowment Funds and the Hadassah Medical Organization.
