Ricciardone said since the “1,000 Book Club” began in 1999 there have been 38 families who have been so honored and more than 200,000 books that have been read by students from 3 to 6 years of age. Charlie’s mother Jamie told of their family’s experience with the book club. “It’s a great project and I am very proud of Charlie for completing it,” she said. “Reading has always been near and dear to our [family’s] hearts. It’s always been a priority in our house and an important part of our nightly routine; a routine that was established when Charlie was just a newborn, long before he was able to focus on the pages of the book.” Jamie said she knew the project would take a few years to complete “but we were committed and determined to see it through to the end and we did…I think he’s proud and I think he feels accomplished. It’s a great project and I encourage people to keep reading.” By MARK REYNOLDS [email protected] PHONE: (845) 561-0170, FAX: (845) 561-3967 After months of searching for and interviewing candidates, the Marlboro School District welcomed two new additions to their administrative staff at last week’s school board meeting.
