One case reported at Marlboro High School
At last week’s Marlboro school board
meeting, Superintendent Michael Brooks
confirmed that one JV football player has
been diagnosed with an antibiotic-resistant skin infection, known as Methicillin
Resistant
Staphylococcus
Aureus
(MRSA). An additional player has also
shown signs of skin lesions but MRSA
has not been confirmed in this case.
In a prepared statement that was
released to parents, Superintendent
Brooks highlighted key aspects of the
infection.
“Staphylococcus Aureus (SA) is a germ
that is commonly found on the skin and
in the nose of 20 to 30% of healthy individuals, according to the New York State

Lloyd Town Council. Republican Dave
Plavchak and incumbent Mike Horodyski
are being challenged by Democrats

Mazzetti. In the race for highway superintendent, incumbent Richard Klotz is
being challenged for a third two-year
term by Lenny Auchmoody.
The general election takes place on
Tuesday, Nov. 3.
