characters and brings humorous colouration to the tone of the main story as well as playing a significant role in promoting the plot development . This essay argues that Hagrid ’ s effect on this film is undervalued . This article will follow the concept of multimodal stylistics to analyse Hagrid ’ s lines in terms of co-operation principle and speech act , as well as taking into account both the linguistic and non-linguistic factors involved in his conversation . Since a single text analysis cannot comprehensively present the dynamic effect that one film generates through linguistic analysis alone , this study will examine how non-linguistic features interact with words and then model a meaning . Dialogue is interspersed with the development of the plot , so this article will follow the transformation of the plot to organise the discussion , which is conducive to the presentation of a smooth and logical discussion .
