role and
responsibilities
The Sole Director’s chair
was made for you!
The Sole Director role is critical to the
success of your business.
The job description for an SD includes:
•
Setting an energetic tone and pace
•
Fostering great connections
•
Ability to shift between doing and
leading
•
Keeping everyone in the loop
•
Awareness of entire team and
customers
Think you’ve got what it takes?
ENERGY.
The SD should be
like a light bulb:
energy always
shining brightly. It
should be a
contagious
energy, too.
Every customer
and every
Associate should
want to be as
excited to be in
CH as you are.
CONNECTIONS.
The SD focuses on
connections. That
could be
connecting an
Associate with a
customer, or
connecting with a
customer
themselves. The
SD asks
questions, pairs
people with
product, and is
always a steward
of engagement.
ADAPTABILITY.
An SD should be able
to shift between
working with
customers
themselves and
overseeing the floor.
Sometimes you’ll be
doing and some times
you’ll be directing.
A great SD knows
how to adapt from a
leader to doer and
back to leader again
without missing a
beat.
AWARENESS.
Have you ever heard an
orchestra with just two
instruments? An SD is
like a conductor:
focusing on several
things at once.
An SD knows who is in
the store, and what
they’re doing, at all times.
Even if they’re with a
customer, they keep an
eye and an ear out for
anything out of tune…
