In countries all over the world, the rapid expansion of technology has attained a tremendous affect on society. Social networking has exploded throughout the entertainment industry, causing some positive and negative effects on the upcoming generation. Over exposure to media has progressively become an issue to parents, educators, and the general public. The content of media is only half of the issue. One of the greatest factors is simply controlling how much access youth has to technology. While advancing in technology will always be a race to the top, many wonder if it’s possible to reduce or revert the side effects of overexposure in youth.
According to Cable News Network, many studies have been done with children and their exposure to social networking sites, technology, and analysis of time spent with [parents vs. internet]. The exposure to media began at a young age with this new generation (D.O.B. since 2000), has endured some of the greatest changes to society. That greatest change was the immersion of technology into daily life.
