beautiful women competing for the love of one man. These girls have to change themselves completely to win over his affection. They fight with each other, say terrible things behind the others back and really have no self respect. When a 17 year old girl watches this it might give her ideas on how to get a guy, or make her feel as though she needs to be skinnier. In November 2000 the Campbell Soup Company, came out with a new add. It showed 9 year old boys handing girls of the same age the soup, the girls responded with "I'm on a diet". And Campbell used this to promote how their soup is lower in calories. These girls haven't hit puberty yet and the commercial is already badgering them about their weight.

The media is something that will never go away and there isn't a way to make people stop paying attention and focusing on it. But there has to be a way to convince girls that the idea of beauty and cool that is portrayed isn't real. No one should feel the need to be 100 pounds, into drugs and drinking just to say " Oh that’s what this girl on TV did."

and Paris Hilton have a huge influence on young girls. This isn't a good thing. Both of these stars have been caught using serious drugs, multiple times. Some girls growing up have a skewed image of what is cool and what's not, and for girls that aren't sure of the difference the media isn't quite the best source for them. Not only does the media provide bad influences to young girls, it also can ruin their self-esteem. Rarely on television do people see a big woman, with short hair, and an average face, unless it's on the show "The Biggest Loser" .
