Toronto Subaru Club raises funds and spirits at Ronald McDonald House Every summer the Toronto Subaru Club (TSC) holds its annual Hyper Meeting at Subaru Canada’s head office in Mississauga, Ont. – one of the largest one-day North American gatherings of Subaru enthusiasts. Last year’s event welcomed more than 600 Subaru fans who showcased more than 200 vehicles in the Show `n Shine competition. But the event isn’t just about the cars. It’s also about giving back to the community. TSC donates the proceeds from the event to the local chapter of Ronald McDonald House and Subaru Canada then matches the total proceeds dollar for dollar. In 2013, the Club and Subaru Canada presented the House with a cheque for $30,000 to help them provide families with healing comfort. “The TSC is proud knowing that the funds are going to a worthy cause that helps families in need,” said club president Derek Serianni. “Many thanks to Subaru Canada for the incredible support provided towards our club and its events.” FROM SUBARU CANADA HEADQUARTERS… $10,000 RAISED McDonald’s Canada President and CEO John Betts, left, McDonald’s Canada Founder George Cohon, 3rd left, and families staying at Ronald McDonald House, celebrate the 20th McHappy Day in Toronto. At the House itself, Jenn Jarvis, the senior development officer, noticed a “really beautiful message of support” outside the Subaru Canada Room, which she called “their home away from home.” Jarvis said it was “a nice reminder of the positive impact your support has on all the families we support each and every day.” 37
