ince the last Subaru Six Star, there have been a number
of developments with our involvement with Ronald
McDonald House, our main charitable thrust.
The first is very exciting news:
SUBARU TRIATHLON SERIES NAMES
RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE AS OFFICIAL CHARITY
The Subaru Triathlon Series soon will unveil a program allowing athletes to
“make their races count.” They can make a one-time contribution or create
personalized fundraising pages to collect donations online, racing on behalf
of their chosen House. The main focus will be the four in Ontario (Hamilton,
London, Ottawa or Toronto), but donations across Canada are welcome.
The more the athlete raises, the greater the benefits, including valuable
triathlon gear and race entries.
“Subaru Canada is thrilled to be a part of the Subaru Triathlon Series, and it’s
even more exciting that we can add Ronald McDonald House as a beneficiary
of our efforts,” said Shiro Ohta, president and CEO of Subaru Canada, Inc.
“Our involvement ensures that caring people and great organizations get
help to make their presence felt in communities across the country.”
Each independently owned and operated Ronald McDonald House relies
on active contributions and support from individual donors, corporations
and charitable groups in their communities. Support from events like the
Subaru Triathlon Series will help the Houses provide more than 10,000
families of seriously ill children with a safe and comfortable place to
stay that is just steps from the hospital where their child is undergoing
medical treatment.

Subaru Triathlon Series with this new donation plan,” said Cathy Loblaw,
President and CEO of Ronald McDonald House Charities. “Subaru, a
longstanding partner to our Houses in helping sick children heal with
their
