So without further adieu, here’s a tour
of Canadian Subaru clubs. They are not
the only clubs but represent a national
cross section.
VANCOUVER IMPREZA CLUB (VIC)
Dedicated to Impreza owners and fans
in Vancouver and the Lower Mainland,
this online club does not have the typical
hierarchy (president, vice-president,
etc.) or administration of some other
grassroots clubs. Instead, the members
create, promote and attend their own
events. For example, those with ties to
auto racing use connections to organize
‘Track Days’ for their fellow Impreza
lovers, allowing them to take vehicles on
sanctioned race tracks for a few laps of
fun. Or, they time quarter-miles to see
who’s the fastest. All of this is done under
safe supervised conditions.

Impreza Club, go to vic.nasioc.com.
WESTERN SUBARU CLUB (WSC)
The Western Subaru Club, another virtual
group, stretches from B.C. to Manitoba
and even as far north as the Yukon
Territories. Members have owned just
about every Subaru model that’s ever
been made. The free membership and
discussion forums permit focused chats
with either members in your province
or members that share the same model.
Live meetings are member created and
include such regular events as the BOXER
Battle (a timed quarter mile), the annual
Super Meet and various rally races.

Subaru Club, check out their web site at

TORONTO SUBARU CLUB (TSC)
Established early in 1998, the Toronto
Subaru Club, Canada’s largest enthusiasts
group, was originally named after the
2.5RS so local Subaru Impreza RS owners
could chat, socialize and share technical
knowledge about Subaru’s latest and,
at that time, only North American
performance-oriented vehicle. In 2000, it
adopted its present name to attract those

The Toronto club attracts Subaru
owners from all over Ontario – and they
have their own regional forums on the
club’s website. Members come from the
Great Toronto Area, Barrie, KitchenerWaterloo, Hamilton/Burlington, Niagara
Region and as far north as Sudbury and
Thunder Bay.

regular events including their annual
summer Hyper Meeting (now in its 11th
year – see QR code below for more info),
the winter Snokhana event (now in its
third year) and their Spring Fling event
(now in its fifth year) as well as regional
small meets all over Ontario.
Current club president Derek Serianni,
a long standing member, has seen the
club grow substantially over the years.
“It used to be just a bunch of guys getting
together in a parking lot somewhere to
talk about their favourite Subarus,” he
recalls. “Now we have hundreds of cars
and people showing up for some
of our larger events. And they come from
